The Eastbourne Clinic focuses on delivering up-to-date treatments to those suffering with an addiction. Individuals may access treatment on an in-patient or out-patient basis, although in-patient is always preferable.

For those suffering with an alcohol or drug addiction, the Eastbourne Clinic offers an opportunity to address both the physical and psychological dependence. Individuals can expect to undergo a detox initially, followed by a period of psychiatric, psychological and therapeutic care.

Individuals will have access to a consultant psychiatrist twice a week, and will also have weekly sessions with their nurse. The Eastbourne Clinic will attend to your individual needs by formulating a treatment programme after an initial psychiatric and nursing assessment. 

The therapeutic programme at the Eastbourne Clinic is led by a recognised counsellor and psychotherapist.  The programme offers individuals one-to-one and group based therapy sessions throughout their stay. Individuals will also have access to cognitive behavioural therapy, which is one of the leading therapies in addiction treatment. Further treatment will focus on relapse prevention, social skill training, anxiety management, yoga, coping skills, health and education, assertiveness training, relaxation, problem solving, life skills and anger management.

How long could treatment for a drug and alcohol addiction at Eastbourne Clinic take?

As with any drug and alcohol addiction, the longer a residential programme can be accessed for, the better. As a minimum, four weeks is recommended for an alcohol addiction and six weeks for a drug addiction.
