LifeWorks Community

Lifeworks Community Services are providers of addiction treatment programmes in the UK. Both drug and alcohol addiction treatment programmes are on offer alongside other addictions and associated mental health issues. The preferred approach is of a holistic nature; not only does the physical addiction need addressing but the psychological and spiritual needs of an individual must be met.

Lifeworks Community takes pride in the centre which promotes an atmosphere of privacy and offers a safe environment to come to terms with the illness and take some time away from the daily stresses of life.

Types of Treatment Programme Lifeworks Community Offers

During a pre-screening assessment which can take place over the phone or in person at the Lifeworks Community rehab centre, individual needs will be discussed and a treatment plan can be devised based on individual requirements.

Upon arrival at the Lifeworks Community rehab centre, a comprehensive assessment is carried out covering key medical, psychiatric and psychological issues. Once assessed as medically safe, a detoxification programme will be started which is supervised by a team of nursing staff. Once completed, progression will be made into the rehabilitation programme.

Life Work Community Services provides therapies such as 12 Step based therapy, Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Meditation and Complementary Therapies such as Shiatsu and Music Groups. The main component of the programme is group therapy. There are usually one or two groups every morning with lectures taking place in the afternoon. One to one therapy sessions take place once a week.

How Long Could Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Addiction at Lifeworks Community Take?

The duration of each alcohol or drug detox varies, according to the particular needs of the individual. Lifeworks Community Services offer varying treatment durations. Detox usually lasts between 7 and 10 days. Full therapeutic programmes are usually between 4 and 12 weeks long. Regardless of the length of treatment, an attitude of ‘seeing it through’ is central to effectiveness. Quality residential rehabs are able to identify the following:
