We have a full time doctor who overseas each client’s treatment and a Consultant Psychiatrist who runs a weekly clinic. The detox group programme consists of three groups a day, seven days per week. The groups concentrate on relapse prevention, cravings management and harm reduction. Complementary therapy is also provided to help clients with withdrawal symptoms and learn relaxation techniques.
The Rehab Unit runs an intensive evidence based multi-modal psychosocial group programme. The group programme is a rolling programme and is based on ITEP, CBT, MI and has elements of 12 step. Our BACP Accredited counsellor offers support for individuals and couples to enable them to make positive changes in their relationships and overcome barriers that may be preventing their recovery. In addition to the group programme there is complementary therapy, mutual aid groups, volunteering opportunities as well as art and music groups.
When clients complete rehab, we offer a free aftercare group which runs on a Friday and has proved very popular with clients. Its aim is to offer transitional support to aid community re-integration. It is Service User lead and the groups look at coping strategies, mutual support and relapse prevention.
