The purpose of the Oxfordshire is to help Professionals struggling with alcohol/drug dependency and co-occurring mental health difficulties regain their lives (personal and occupational).
We are a modified, democratic therapeutic community that offers a specialist and confidential treatment service where addicted professionals can recover in a healing and safe environment.
A resident's length of stay will be determined by the treatment requirements and progress throughout treatment. We offer a primary care 6-week programme followed by up to a further 6-8 weeks of extended care if necessary. The programme includes five years aftercare and a family programme.
Being in a dedictated programme treated with peers that offer both primary and secondary care is a new approach in the UK whereas in North America it is considered the norm for dedicated Professionals Programmes. These programmes have shown 78-90% recovery rates compared to 30-52% recovery rates for short-term non-dedicated services in the UK.

This helps to break the sense of isolation inherent to addiction.
Comprehensive Assessment
Following admission or transfer from detox, each resident undergoes a thorough assessment. This includes an assessment of the resident’s physical, psychiatric, psychological, social, spiritual, and family needs in order to determine the most appropriate levels of care, and to ensure that the resident is ready to participate actively in the Bayberry Programme.
Treatment planning
The resident and the care team discuss the outcomes of the assessment and set goals for an idividualised care plan. The care plan integrates evidence-based treatment methods and psychotherapy with medication should it be indicated (for instance in mood disorders).
Extended Aftercare Programme
Bayberry believes in a strong Aftercare Programme to support residents in maintaining the changes they have made during their stay at the clinic. We offer a free Five-year Aftercare Programme based on 30 years of research on successful Programmes in the USA.
