Variety in quality of illegal drugs can have serious health implications

The dangers associated with drug use are certainly cause for concern, and these are only the dangers that we are actually aware of.  For any individual it is impossible to say how they will react to a certain drug, and even if they are a frequent user, there is nothing to say that just because you've used it without incident 50 times for example, that when you use it for the 51st time, you won't have some adverse reaction that could seriously harm your health or even be fatal.

But in addition to the well known dangers of drugs use, and any individual adverse reactions, there is always the chance that there will be a 'dodgy batch' somewhere that could have serious health implications.

The individuals who actually produce the drugs have virtually no regard for the safety of their consumers, and are seeking only to make as much money as possible.  This often means that very questionable methods are used to create these drugs, and in some cases the ingredients can lead to infections, unexpected reactions or even death.

In the USA for example they have had reports that a virus seems to have been contracted by many people as a result of using a certain form a drug, and this infection has left a lot of people in serious condition, some of whom have not recovered (DrugFree, 2012).

The truth of the matter is that individuals who abuse drugs are constantly gambling with their life, and whether it's as a result of the drugs they use, the people they interact with, or the situations they find themselves in, many people who use drugs will die much younger than they should, and the tragedy is that it can be prevented.  For anyone who is suffering from addiction, but who does not want to lose their life to drugs, it is imperative that find help, as attendance at rehab clinics can significantly help reduce the risk of dying as a result of drug abuse.
