Why a Rehab Centre? A residential detox centre will provide a safe environment to detox from drugs and alcohol. Once an individual is physically addicted to drugs and/or alcohol the detoxification process requires medical supervision. Following detox, the individual can then enter a programme of rehabilitation with various aftercare options available, all of which improve the individuals chances of long-term success.
The treatment centre provides enhanced, recovery promoting inpatient detoxification and wrap-around support services for people experiencing problematic drug and alcohol use; as well as respite services for problematic stimulant use. The treatment centre provides safe and effective detoxification from addictive substances in a safe and therapeutic environment; where clients can recover in pleasant surroundings for the minimum amount of time necessary and have minimum disruption to their normal lives. Our programmes are designed specifically to meet the needs of all clients including those with entrenched addiction and complex physical and mental health needs. The treatment centre treats everyone as an individual who is an 'expert' in their own recovery and at the focal point of their own personal journey.
Situated in a tranquil, rural location in Bedfordshire, this treatment centre is an ideal centre for recovery. Accommodation is to a high standard – every client has their own bedroom. The clinic also has membership of a private health club offering spa and swimming facilities and a gymnasium. However, none of these will get an addict well! It is the experienced counselling team who make the difference – with over 50 years of recovery and over 30 years of counselling experience between them, they can offer the best opportunity for recovery available. The clinic’s consultant doctor is a specialist in detox and a qualified psychiatrist.
Every client receives an assessment and takes part in group therapy. One to one counselling is also available. Clients also get help in developing life skills, where appropriate and free aftercare is provided for a day a week for a year after completing the programme.
The Clinic is Scotland's leading independent acute psychiatric hospital. The hospital has an excellent reputation for its range of services and standards of psychiatric and psychological care in the areas of addictions, general psychiatry and eating disorders.
The goal of treatment on our alcohol and drug addiction treatment programme is to facilitate long-term recovery through abstinence, restoring psychological and physical wellbeing as quickly as possible, thus helping patients to regain control of their lives.
All patients are admitted under the care of a consultant psychiatrist and have a named primary nurse who co-ordinates their programme.
NA meetings are held all across the UK and provide a network of support or a form of self-help for drug addicts. NA meetings are based upon the foundations of the AA movement; they are spiritual, not religious, there is no requirement to talk at a meeting and anonymity is protected rigorously. Drop out rates are high, but for those that remain abstinence rates are excellent.
